When using Ctrl+Plus and Ctrl+Minus to change the browser zoom, the game considers this shortcut as an answer. Result? I answered everything in just a couple of seconds, and that was definitely not my intention.
This was quite good. It had a really good selection of example games, and was generally aware of all the rogulike controversies over the years not just the current forever roguelite/like one.
If I had to nitpick, I'd say some of the claims about roguelike community sentiment on the game seem a bit vague in their justifications. Rot13 or a similar obfuscation on the roguelike code might help the code get shared more (people might not want to post all their answers)
But I really enjoyed it and will be sharing it with others!
For those who do not want to share their code publicly (but be included in the statistics), there is the suggestions form.
Not sure which justifications you consider vague -- probably opinions like "Spelunky/Isaac is not a roguelike because it is not turn-based" should be mentioned, since they are said quite frequently and not vague.
Thanks! You can click "details" to see how these are defined. Spatial is intended to be a looser variant of "grid-based": the combat takes place in some space with relevant geometry, but it can be continuous. Text adventures, JRPG-style, card battle combat typically violates this. There are some games which are quite close to traditional roguelike but not strictly grid-based (e.g., billiards roguelikes, Rootin' Tootin' Lootin' Shootin').
really informative! i gotta say while this did make me rethink my own definition of what a roguelike is, i ended up being consistent in my inconsistency. i made most of my judgement from vibes rather than anything else
A great Experience , I was able to realize that my definition of rogelike was closer to the core community of rogelite and it made me discover many games I didn't know about.
Really enjoyed this, it definitely made me rethink some of my thoughts about the genre.
I think perhaps the "Controversies" section in the Dwarf Fortress entry should mention the fact that, despite featuring both a randomly generated world and permadeath, the world is persistent between runs instead of being randomly generated each time you play. I think world persistence might be an important deciding factor for some people.
This was mentioned as "META same world", but added this in "controversies" too. (Also the meta violations was not given correctly for DF.) From the games not in the quiz, AFAIK CataclysmDDA and Unexplored II also have an option to play in the same world.

My roguelike code (whatever that means):😅
Ro4 NH4 AB4 KR1 MS0 UW2 TT0 CW4 AD4 XC2 DC4 OD1 D12 PM4 Le4 DF4 ES4 BA4 DO0 DR4 Sp2 DU3 HRy DD4 KK0 MC1 BI2 TM4 FT3 OT0 PD4 8H1 RR0 LE0 DQ0 SP4 ND2 CQ4 DA1 UE1 SS0 PB2 VS0 MR4
Was fun and educational, thanks for putting this together.❤️
Quite nice game
"Based on your answer, it appears that:
...It is not a Roguelike if it is not spatial. (9)..."
I apparently agree with that, but what does it even mean for game to be spatial?

Nice, I enjoyed trying some roguelikes I didn't know about before, like Kerkerkruip. Do you plan to release aggregate results sometime?
Thanks! Here are the early aggregate results (based on the first 13 votes posted here, via the in-game form, on Twitter or Discord servers): https://twitter.com/ZenoRogue/status/1768665726011711511

Agreed, the information about meta in Slay the Spire was indeed misleading, reformulated it to be more precise.
Really enjoyed this, it definitely made me rethink some of my thoughts about the genre.
